Really dont like the inbuilt picture poster of blogger but we'll make do for now. Anyways, finally crossed off an item off my to do list in life. FISHING. Exciting experience. Gearing up was a bitch though.
Home Brew: Cooler with radio, Maxim magazine, sitting rug, straits times, torch, tissue, bicycle, sunglasses, sunblock. (of which i only used the bicycle and the below items. U really dont need much when you're a noob)
1.Fishing Rods $6.90
2.Squid Bait $0.70
3.Misc Snacks $2.30
4.The look on my student's face when he dropped his phone into the ocean? Priceless.
We caught nothing and with regards to set up, we had to consult a 12 year old boy who was way pro at this sports. So i sucked in my pride and asked humbly for his help to tying the hook and stuff. OMFG, its really not easy at all. I dont remember anything from watching him do it. Next time i go fishing, im bringing a pro friend. ( and our rods are embarrassing)
Catching something was a non event, but the highlight was watching a red k600 fall into the sea lol. Thereafter, i thought i had my first catch but i snagged a rock lol. The helpful kid pointed this out to me after my lame initial excited and delighted reaction at having some resistance on my rod.
Try it someday. But remember, biking out to punggol point is not the best of ideas. Take an 82. Trust me on that one.
