Ode to Kira
So much greatness, potential and goodness lies within this character. Yet at the same time, he is conflicted and blinded by hubris. He is like the modern Heathcliff, an overreacher, one who desires beyond human possibilities. He is the tragic hero who like a shooting star, though fleeting his fire, ignites all around him with his passion, with his fervour. His determination, perseverance and willingness to sacrifice all around him is both immensely sublime and yet horridly self destructive at the same time. His journey is one of self destruction, one which is necessary when seeking to learn and recreate a brand new world. He begun with nothing but a dream, and his journey ended with that dream almost within reach but still too far away. Such is life when mortals reach beyond the microcosm into the divine. Experiences of the Gods are like ambrosia, we can desire them but consumption will surely poison us.
The victory is yours Kira, not L, not Melo or even Near's. When the finish line is reached, nothing more can be achieved, but your story will live on like the modern day prometheus, the one who brought fire to mortals, but will forever pay for such great audacity. Your fire lives on, and it is through those who dream that new worlds are created. Rest well my friend.
