Their eyes,
soft and gently shaded,
in all shades of colours,
inquisitive and curious,
slightly shimmering,
with a hint of tears,
yet they smile back.
those innocent orbs,
gleaming with purity.
But my eyes are clouded,
with doubt and sorrow,
jaded and tired,
in a dull shade of grey.
No longer shining,
overbrimming with love,
and innocene.
Time took my eyes away,
gifts lost forever to maturity.
Envy the children.
