An endless stream of water cascaded upon my face. A certain quiet pervades the room, this quiet empty shell. Only the sounds of water, peaceful and cleansing as i let it wash gently over my body. The water never stopped flowing, it became a mist, clouding the mirror, and lending the atmosphere a comfortable thickness. Enveloped in thoughts and water, the musty smell of tobacco clears my mind as i inhale deeply into a damp cigarette. I exhale, pondering the passing of time, which like the descending water, moves ceaselessly, emotionlessly, regardless of what has come to past. Anger fades into a certain sort of quiet, love once a fire now a doused extinguised pile of ash. My thoughts like the dying love smoldering, evidence of its existence losing its tangibility by the minute, the ashes like snow as the water like mist rain, do does the pain in my heart fade momentarily to grant me an uneasy calm. I shut the door behind me and along with my trappings of humanity, articles that spelt out me. The people were like that water, an endless stream, as i hear my footsteps like rainfall, pattering like the rain. The was no rain today, but there was the calm that comes with rain. A short respite from the welcome fire, an escape from the realities of human emotions. The cars drove by effortlessly, the crowd shifting but never minding. The electric pulses of movement as i walked aimlessly homewards. I stood still amidst a sea of people, that seemed like the tide as i reach closer and closer to my destination. Eventually i sat down and got up some time later, that my stillness has nevertheless brought me home. Perhaps we should stop running, and embrace this stillness, this quietness, and appreciate life's streams, or drown perhaps in my stream of consciousness.
