The scathing sun descends from its zenith,
Its crimson rays dim to soft pastel hues.
Sand falls ceaselessly through the hourglass,
each grain a memory each speck lost hope.
The gentle clouds embrace the golden sphere,
As Daedalus soar proudly to his fall.
My winged thoughts rose like his daring flight,
Reaching the pinnacle of yesterday.
I remember the days that passed me by,
The glorious dawn of a Spring like morning,
When flowers twinkled with their dew-like tears.
The shimmering orb rose to take its place,
Harshly illuminating worlds of toil.
The cruel rays of hot burning sunlight,
Made me eager to wish the sun away.
When respite came in Autumnal sunset,
To hide my tears in a gentle darkness.
My blanket of barren empty comfort,
Yield no sustenance in contemplation.
